Matthew 12:1-21

Context

Following Jesus’ promise to give our souls rest, Matthew shares two moments of tension between Jesus and Jewish religious leaders about Sabbath: a day of the week given to remember and experience the rest God took on the seventh day of creation. While the Pharisees leave furious, Matthew again points to Jesus as the prophesied Savior.
