Advent reminds us that arrival always reveals the heart. In Matthew 2, three groups encounter the same announcement—“Jesus, the King, has come.” But their responses could not be more different. Some were indifferent, some hostile, and some worshiped. The way we respond to Jesus exposes who actually sits on the throne of our lives.

Where do you see signs of indifference toward Jesus in your life—areas where you know the truth but haven’t acted on it?

Where are you tempted to keep control? In what area are you protecting your own throne instead of surrendering to Jesus?

What is the Holy Spirit revealing about your heart this Advent season? What needs to shift so Jesus is truly King?
Jesus, You are the true and rightful King. Break our indifference, dethrone our self-rule, and draw us into worship. Give us faith to seek You, humility to bow before You, and courage to offer You our very best. Let Your peace rule in our hearts as we surrender fully to You. Amen.
