At Christmas, the nativity scene reminds us that everyone has a place in God’s story—young and old, powerful and overlooked, confident and uncertain. At the center of it all is Jesus, who comes to offer every person what they most need: grace and help.

REVIEW: Jesus offers grace.

READ: 2 Corinthians 8:9 –
“For you know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ: Though he was rich, yet for your sake he became poor, so that you through his poverty might become rich.”

DISCUSS: Why is it comforting to know that God loves us as we are, not as we should be? Where do you most need to receive grace instead of striving or shame?

REVIEW: Jesus offers help.

READ: John 16:7 –
“But very truly I tell you, it is for your good that I am going away. Unless I go away, the Advocate will not come to you; but if I go, I will send him to you.”

DISCUSS: What happens when we try to follow Jesus in our own strength? How does trusting the Holy Spirit change the way we face daily challenges?

ASK

Where do you most need Jesus’ grace—and where do you need His help right now?

PRAY

Jesus, thank You for meeting us exactly where we are. Thank You for offering grace when we fall short and help when we feel overwhelmed. Teach us to trust Your love, rely on Your Spirit, and center our lives on You this Christmas. Fill us with peace, gratitude, and hope as we follow You. Amen.

INVITATION TO RESPOND

This week, respond to the grace and help Jesus offers:

  • Receive grace: Stop hiding or striving—come honestly into God’s presence.
  • Ask for help: Trust the Holy Spirit instead of trying to do life on your own.
  • Center your life on Jesus: Let Him be the focus of your Christmas, not the pressure.
  • Walk with Him: Take one small step of faith, believing He is with you.

No matter where you find yourself in the story, Jesus is at the center—offering grace, giving help, and inviting you to come close.
