If God is all-powerful, why does He allow His people to suffer? In Stephen’s story, we see that persecution is not evidence of God’s absence but often proof of His work. Even as stones fell, Jesus stood in heaven, reminding us that suffering is temporary and victory in Christ is secure.

DISCUSS: Why does the message that Jesus alone is Lord create opposition? How can followers of Jesus remain faithful when truth is unpopular or resisted?

DISCUSS: How might God use difficult or painful seasons to accomplish purposes we cannot yet see? Where have you seen God bring growth or impact through hardship?
Where is God inviting you to trust Him more deeply—even in hardship, opposition, or uncertainty?
Lord Jesus, help us fix our eyes on You when life is difficult or costly. Give us courage to remain faithful, hearts that forgive like Yours, and confidence that You are sovereign even in suffering. Strengthen our faith so that every trial becomes an opportunity for Your gospel to shine through us. Amen.
