Baptism Stories

Eli Jaggon: Eli grew up knowing about God, but through his mom and what he has learned at church, he began to understand what it means to have a relationship with Jesus. He has learned that God loves him, is always with him, and that he can talk to Him anytime. Eli is excited to be baptized alongside his mom and let everyone know that he loves Jesus and wants to follow Him.

Taylor Pasceri: Taylor spent much of her life searching for love, acceptance, and validation while believing she was too far gone for God. During one of the darkest moments of her life, her grandmother prayed with her, and Taylor experienced the presence of Jesus in a way that changed the direction of her life. Today, she has hope where there was once hopelessness and peace in knowing she no longer has to carry life on her own. Through baptism, Taylor is publicly declaring that she belongs to Jesus and is surrendering every part of her life to Him.

Michael Stubblefield II: During the isolation of COVID, Michael found himself walking through a dark season when Jesus met him in the solitude and opened his heart to His love. Since then, Michael has grown in his desire to surrender his own plans and follow God's will for his life. Although he was baptized as a child, today he is choosing baptism for himself as a personal declaration of his faith in Jesus.

Jalen Swain: Jalen was living for the desires of the world when he reached a low point and felt like he had nowhere else to turn. He opened a Bible he had recently been given and turned to God for guidance, beginning a relationship that has filled his heart with greater love, sensitivity, and joy even through hardship. Today, Jalen is being baptized to publicly declare his commitment to following Jesus and surrendering his life to Him.

Isiah Monroe: Isiah describes his life as once being filled with anger, unforgiveness, loneliness, and a feeling of being lost. Although Jesus had been part of his story for years, the loss of his father led Isiah to fall deeper in love with Him and allow His love to transform his heart. He has become kinder, learned to extend grace, and found freedom through forgiving those he once held grudges against. Today, Isiah is being baptized with a new understanding of what baptism means and a desire to fully follow Jesus.

Alexander Miller: Alexander grew up learning about Jesus through his mom and church, but as he got older, he began to understand that Jesus is someone he can personally know, trust, and talk to. His relationship with Jesus has helped him become kinder, make better choices, and turn to prayer when he is worried or afraid. Alexander is being baptized because he loves Jesus, wants to follow Him, and wants to continue growing closer to Him.

Emmery Lewis: Emmery once found herself walking through depression, anxiety, addiction, hurt, and a life that felt consumed by darkness. About two years ago, she had an encounter with Jesus that began changing her life and continues to bring healing to the places that once held her down. Today, she is growing in her faith, becoming the mother God has called her to be, and experiencing the freedom Jesus brings. Emmery is being baptized as a public declaration of her commitment to Jesus and the new beginning she has found in Him.

Patrick Pruitt: Patrick describes his life before Jesus simply as lost. Although Jesus had always been present in his story, Patrick recognizes that he had strayed over the years and now desires to recenter his life around Him. He is growing in a desire to reflect Jesus through the way he lives and is being baptized as a step of rededicating his life to Him.

Kim Chandler: Before truly trusting Jesus, Kim's life was marked by uncertainty and unhealthy relationships. Through an honest conversation with God, she began asking Him to reveal who she truly was and discovered more deeply how much He loves her. That realization has made forgiveness and love easier as she seeks to live in a way that pleases God. Kim is being baptized as a declaration of her faith and trust in Jesus.

Levi Raiford: Levi realized that although he knew about Jesus, he wasn't truly following Him or loving others the way he could. Around eight years old, he attended an adult service and began to understand just how much Jesus loves him and that he could choose to follow Him. Since then, Levi has wanted to love and respect others in the same way Jesus loves him. Through baptism, he wants his church family to know that he is following Jesus and has been washed clean by Him.

Anthony Lewis: Anthony once felt isolated and alone, living primarily for himself and struggling to show empathy toward others. After accepting an invitation to church in December 2024, Jesus began changing his heart and giving him a desire to serve others instead of himself. Even as Anthony walks through one of the hardest seasons of his life, he is choosing to trust Jesus. Through baptism, he is declaring that his past, bitterness, hurt, shame, and sadness no longer define him.

Juliana Smith: Juliana has grown up learning about Jesus through her mom and has come to understand that her life has purpose because of Him. As her relationship with Jesus has grown, she has seen a difference in the way she thinks, acts, and treats others. Juliana is being baptized because she chooses Jesus every day and wants to live in obedience to Him.

Allison Smith: Allison has been around church throughout her life and has continued to learn more about Jesus as she has grown older. Knowing Him has helped her understand her purpose and challenged her to become kinder and live more like Jesus. Allison is being baptized because she accepts what Jesus did for her on the cross and wants to follow Him every day.

Jason Stewart: Jason once felt lost as he carried the weight of addiction and painful experiences from his childhood. He gave his life to Jesus in 1992, and since then, God has transformed him into someone more loving and caring toward others. Baptism is a step Jason has wanted to take for a long time, and today he is choosing to follow through and publicly declare his faith.

Bobby Stroman: Bobby was living without direction, caught in drugs, stealing, unforgiveness, and choices that were leading him down a destructive path. At rock bottom, God used another man's testimony to reach Bobby and lead him to pursue a real relationship with Jesus. Since then, Jesus has transformed his heart, making him more compassionate, patient, loving, and free from the bitterness he once carried. Bobby is being baptized to publicly declare that Jesus is his Lord and Savior and that his life now belongs to Him.

Karie Stroman: Karie spent much of her life searching for connection and finding her identity in the approval of others. Growing up in foster care, she knew Jesus as a source of protection and love, but after straying as she got older, she began developing a deeper relationship with Him and learning to know Him as her Father. Today, she is becoming more humble, less reactive, and more intentional about applying God's Word to her everyday life. Although she was baptized as a child, Karie is choosing baptism now with a deeper understanding of what it means to follow Jesus.
