Peace Reigns

December 3, 2023
Dr. Allen Holmes

REVIEW: If we want God’s peace, we must learn to be still.

  • ‭‭‭‭READ: Psalm 46:10 “Be still, and know that I am God!”
  • DISCUSS: Do you ever make time to intentionally and exclusively connect with God?
If so, how often do you make time for practicing silence and stillness?
If not, what would help you practice doing so?
  • DISCUSS: Is stillness and silence easy for you to practice, or difficult? Why do you think that is?

REVIEW: The Christian life is not about knowledge and activity, but about transformation.

  • READ: 1 Thessalonians 5:23 “Now may the God of peace make you holy in every way, and may your whole spirit and soul and body be kept blameless until our Lord Jesus Christ comes again.”
  • ‭‭DISCUSS: How have you experienced the transformation of the Holy Spirit in your life recently?

REVIEW: Stillness allows our souls to be clear and clean.

  • ‭‭‭‭READ: Psalm 23:1-3 “The Lord is my shepherd; I have all that I need. He lets me rest in green meadows; he leads me beside peaceful streams. He renews my strength. He guides me along right paths, bringing honor to his name.”
  • DISCUSS: Does your heart and mind feel clear, clean, and at peace—or cloudy, heavy, and under stress? Why?
  • DISCUSS: What opportunities do you have to create space to either preserve or develop God’s peace in your life?
