Jesus is the Truth

Key passage: John 2:1-11

Trusting and following Jesus is better than having certainty in life.

REVIEW: Life requires faith.

  • READ: Habakkuk 2:4 “Look at the proud! They trust in themselves, and their lives are crooked. But the righteous will live by their faithfulness to God.”
  • ‭‭DISCUSS: What current situations are difficult to trust God with?

REVIEW: Jesus allows us to experience situations that require us to trust him.

  • READ: Romans 5:3-4 “We can rejoice, too, when we run into problems and trials, for we know that they help us develop endurance. And endurance develops strength of character, and character strengthens our confident hope of salvation.”
  • ‭‭DISCUSS: How do you typically respond to situations that are uncertain or out of your control? How does that compare to how Jesus teaches us to respond?

REVIEW: Jesus produces better fruit, better plans, and better honor.

  • READ: Proverbs 3:5-6 “Trust in the Lord with all your heart; do not depend on your own understanding. Seek his will in all you do, and he will make your paths straight.”
  • ‭‭DISCUSS: In what specific instances or situations has God surpassed your expectations?

  ASK:

What else did you get from this week's sermon? What actions or next steps can you take to apply it to your life?

  PRAY:

Invite individual group members to surrender the current difficult situations into God’s control. Then, pray for the courage to trust God and for the wisdom and grace to follow Jesus through uncertainty.
