Generosity is not what God takes from us, it’s what he forms in us. The cross is the ultimate picture of love and generosity. God’s generosity towards us is what allows us to share that generosity with the world around us and ultimately be more and more like Jesus.
READ: Matthew 6:19-21
"Don’t store up treasures here on earth, where moths eat them and rust destroys them, and where thieves break in and steal. Store your treasures in heaven, where moths and rust cannot destroy, and thieves do not break in and steal. Wherever your treasure is, there the desires of your heart will also be.”

READ: Matthew 6:33-34

DISCUSS:
Where is Jesus inviting you to a higher level of trust and relationship through generosity?
Is there anything else that stood out to you this week in regards to your own practice of generosity?
Jesus, thank You for focusing and shaping my priorities. I long to please You. Teach us to find our identity in You and not in what we have or don’t have. Soften our hearts to see the world, and the people in it, the way You see them. Let Your treasure be our treasure. In Your name we pray, Amen.
This week, be intentional with your generosity and take time to locate where your treasure is:
Identify your treasure: Take 10 minutes each day to do some self-examination and find out what you truly treasure.
Locate Him: Take a moment each day to place Jesus on the throne of your heart through prayer and worship.
Find “His” way: Slow down and look for an opportunity to show Jesus through serving others (time, prayer, care, and/or giving).
Give thanks: Practice being content in the areas of your life where you see there is none. Give God thanks in the moment for all He has done.
Practice generosity: Take a moment and find some way to show generosity to someone.
