Taste is the only sense that incorporates all of our senses. Psalms 34:8 says, “Taste and see that the Lord is good. Oh, the joys of those who take refuge in him!” To understand the goodness of God we have to have a multi sensory encounter with God.
READ: Exodus 34:5-6: “Then the Lord came down in a cloud and stood there with him; and he called out his own name, Yahweh, The Lord passed in front of Moses, calling out, “Yahweh! The Lord! The God of compassion and mercy! I am slow to anger and filled with unfailing love and faithfulness.”

What else from this week’s message was particularly memorable?
Jesus, we invite you into every part of our lives. Teach us to be guided by your word and your spirit. Help us to recognize that you have given us the ingredients to be who you’ve called us to be. May we recognize that your love never ceases even when the fire and trials of life rage around us. Create in us a deeper hunger and passion for you. In Your name we pray, Amen.
This week take a step to evaluate where you are in your spiritual practices. For example, examine which of these areas you hear God calling you higher in during your time with Him and allow Him to stir up your prayer, worship, and word life.
Understanding The Recipe: This week examine what God wants to do in and through you. Do this by taking a moment to recognize the bitter and sweet places of your character in your alone time with Him.
Ingredients: You are uniquely designed to do the great things that God has planned for you. Learn to be at peace with the ingredients that God has given to you by setting aside time each day to take care of yourself and your relationship with Jesus.
Tools: Identify the tools God has given to all us for continued growth and cultivation. For example: Solitude, Worship and Fasting, Gratitude, Giving, Community, Bible Study, etc.
Technique: Take daily inventory of where you are in your spiritual practices, and ask God to continue to awaken your desire for growth in those areas.
Fire: Allow the fire of God to form, motivate, and grow you. You can do this by being open and honest about struggles, issues and successes with a community of believers that encourage, support and hold you accountable guided by the word of God and prayer.
What if we believed that the bible is more like a recipe for experiencing God… Would we then recognize God in the Fire?
